Garden Ridge Bike Rodeo
On Saturday, May 21st, the first Bike Rodeo at Garden Ridge Elementary School was held and, despite the drizzly weather, 31 kids participated to the delight of the chief sponsor of the event – the Garden Ridge Police Department led by Police Chief Donna O'Conner who cheerfully served as ringleader during all the activities.

Newt Gingrich - Rediscovering God in America
On Sunday, March 27th, Cornerstone Church welcomed former Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich, in grand style. Opening with several patriotic songs, the choir performed the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," "America The Beautiful," and, of course, our National Anthem- all to the delight of the more than 2,000 people in attendance. The event was open to the public and the conservative, potential presidential candidate was eager to share his views with the audience.

Bracken V olunteer Fire Department
BVFD was formed in 1968 with guidance from Roman Schertz (of the Alamo Heights FD) and began as a completely volunteer fire station. Assistant Fire Chief Bill Anz (who's been with BVFD since high school) says when they got their first truck in August 1969, it was immediately used to help extinguish a huge grass fire in New Braunfels, involving more than 175 firefighters.
